Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) lets you run compute workloads (jobs) on your own cloud provider account. We manage the full lifecycle of your instances, but you’re billed directly by your cloud provider for all usage, with no markup. Because all processing happens on your infrastructure, your data never leaves your account except for observability data (logs and metrics).
How It Works
Daestro has built-in integrations with multiple cloud providers such as AWS, DigitalOcean, and Vultr. You can add your provider’s access key or auth token in the Cloud Auth section to get started.

Why It Matters
No Compute Markup
You pay your cloud provider’s list price, or a discounted rate if you have an existing arrangement for reserved instances or volume discounts. On top of that, you pay Daestro a fixed platform fee.
Unlike Daestro, most other platforms charge a premium on top of your cloud bill based on the CPU and memory of the instances deployed.
Use Your Existing Cloud Credits
Many cloud providers such as AWS, DigitalOcean, and Vultr offer free credits to eligible startups to get them to try their products and scale infrastructure. With Daestro, you can connect your cloud provider accounts and use their compute resources with those credits without getting locked into their ecosystem.
Data Never Leaves Your Account
Daestro runs jobs on your cloud provider account, so all the data that is being processed stays within the confines of your account. Daestro only stores observability data (logs and metrics) and artifacts that you choose to store.
No Lock-In
Daestro doesn’t lock you down to a specific cloud provider. You can switch to any cloud provider at any time, and you can use multiple cloud providers at once. You can even run jobs on your self-managed compute, be it a server rack in a data center or a laptop.
AES-256 Encrypted Credential Storage
Daestro encrypts all secrets such as API keys/tokens, job environment variables, etc., in transit and at rest. At rest, we use AES-256-GCM for encryption, while in transit we use TLS to protect your data.
Cost Comparison
Similar BYOC platforms offer compute at a premium rate, which can increase the cost of usage significantly, whereas Daestro’s BYOC enables you to connect your own cloud provider and use that instead.
In the table below, we compare compute prices among Render, Railway, Northflank, and Daestro. Prices are shown for 1,000 hours of compute with 4 vCPU, 8 GB memory, 75 GB disk (volume), and 1 TB of egress usage. We also include the platform fee for the respective services.

Self-hosted
Daestro goes beyond the BYOC model: it even lets you connect your self-hosted compute, be it an enterprise server rack or a laptop. You can install the Daestro agent on your machine and let Daestro handle running jobs on it.
Security & Trust
With BYOC, you get to bring and use the compute infrastructure of the cloud provider that you know and trust. You can also add your public SSH key to Daestro so that you can ssh to the spawned instances and audit or debug things yourself.
